By Taylor Pierce - Tuesday, October 15

The Recap

The best information on capital raises and financing activity in under 5 minutes:

  • Americas Gold and Silver (TSX: USA / NYSE: USAS) announces upsize of previously announced private placement of subscription receipts to CAD $45 million

  • Scholar Rock Holding Corporation (NASDAQ:SRRK) announces pricing on its upsized $300 million public offering of common stock and pre-funded warrants

EssilorLuxottica, the maker of Ray-Ban, has acquired a 5.1% stake in Nikon, amounting to a €170 million (~$184 million) investment. This move strengthens the relationship between the two companies, which began in 2000 with the creation of Nikon-Essilor, a joint venture focused on wholesale lens production. This investment highlights the continued collaboration in serving both regional and global markets. Lenses have become a critical component in advancing new and emerging technologies. EssilorLuxottica has a long-term partnership with Meta Platforms Inc., through its Ray-Ban brand, to co-develop innovative smart wearable products. We believe it is possible that this recent investment helps pave the way for Nikon to participate in smart wearable products in the future.
