Funding Secured 101: Our weekly newsletter keeps investors informed about where capital is flowing across industries, while founders and businesses gain valuable intelligence on competitor funding and strategic investors.
Weekly Money Moves: Last week saw capital flow into a broader range of industries with more activity from Biotech, Real Estate, and Crpyto from a list of notable investors whom we have identified below.
Which sector do you think will attract the most capital this week?
Last week marked another downturn in overall fundraising, with the total amount decreasing from $1.9 billion to $1.1 billion. Despite this decline, the biotech industry emerged as the leading sector, securing 55% of the total funds raised. Key players in the biotech space, including Nurix, Acrivon, and Eliem Therapeutics, led the charge within the overall sector which raised $634 million last week.
Real Estate followed closely behind, with Global Net Lease spearheading the sector with a strong $237 million refinancing and once again the Crypto sector made waves with a significant round / bought deal led by Canaccord for Galaxy Digital, totaling $125 million.
Notably, Kootaney Silver also secured $9 million Canadian in a nicely upsized round.
However, amidst these highlights, the overall sentiment suggests a slowdown in fundraising activities, likely influenced by global macroeconomic conditions and heightened tensions in the Middle East, reflected in the recent WoW decline across the Dow Jones and S&P 500 indices.
